For best results over time that maintains the polish and finish of your granite, cultured granite or other stone surfaces, look for a daily maintenance cleaner that is a pH Neutral Cleaner. (A Neutral PH registers a 7 on a scale from 1 - 14.)
Many people use common household dish washing soaps like DAWN ULTRA® for cleaning granite and marble Counter-tops. This seems safe and mild enough until you learn that the ingredients that include Ethanol. It also has a pH of 9-11 depending on formulation.
Over time, high pH Household Cleaners can not only damage stone like onyx and marble, possibly dulling the polish of the stone, but it also degrades the protection of sealers you may have applied already, even on granite.
While Granite and other Stone materials will last for many, many years, keeping that actual work surface in top shape for repeated use takes some care and planning.
